National Latin Results are in! Kudos to Swanson's Latin students for a great showing.

40 students took part in theNational Latin Exam back in March, along with 150,000 students in all 50 Statesand 13 other countries.

33 Swanson students earned awards,including three students–Marcus Alder, Lydia Cawley, and Kelsey Wengert–whomade perfect scores.

 Summer Opportunities 2012

 Many parents have contacted me asking for suggestions and information regarding possible summer opportunities for their child(ren).  For your convenience, Gifted Services has compiled a multi-page list of summer programs and opportunities.  This list was published in the January 2012 Newsletter on the APS Gifted Services website.  If you missed that, the direct link is:

A test preparation course is being offered in Fairfax County in July and August for rising 8th graders who will be taking the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology test next December.  The offering is a ten session, 4 ½  hour course offered twelve different times at a costs of $526. The course is open to rising Arlington Public Schools 8th grade students. Currently, there is space in all of the twelve sections.  INFORMATION LINK:
